NatureBridge Brings Nature to these Kiddos! |
We,
as avid outdoors-people, have the bug, the love, the passion for the outdoors
and are constantly teaching our own kids the ways of Ma Nature and her complex, brilliant systems.
But
what about those kids who don’t have our kind of access?
In
steps NatureBridge, a non-profit that takes those underserved kiddos and
exposes them to hands-on environmental field science education – all in the
most unbelievable settings in the country – our own National Parks. (Lucky ducks!)
They’re
having a big Hike-a-Thon in the LA area this weekend – with guided hikes and
fun activities for the kids. Check it out and support a GREAT cause!

P.S.
Inside scoop, the community loved this event so much, they’re going to be throwing
one in the Golden Gate Headlands, our neck of the woods, in Oct 2013. So stay
tuned….
What an unbelievable experience! Upon reading what you wrote about the upcoming event, I really hope a lot of people show! Getting children in to the outdoors as often and as early as you can is one of the greatest experiences you can give them. When I was younger I was always outside using my imagination and playing around. I completely agree with everything that this event stands for, and if I wasn't in MA right now, I would love to go to it!
ReplyDeletehey Cara! it's enthusiasm like yours that helps make all this happen for these kiddos! love to hear it and, yes, let's continue to support these great organizations who are getting these kids Outside! :) :)
